Opened By SheriffConker staff were invited by Plumpton College to the official opening of the Living Classroom in Netherfield, East Sussex, by Caroline Mayhew, the outgoing High Sheriff of East Sussex. The new classroom at Ivyland Farm is the result of great commitment by college staff to creating a truly sustainable building which forms part of the education of young adults. The building has 3 classrooms built from rammed earth, with external sheepswool insulation, roof insulated with cork and finished with sedum. Ibstock Brickworks, kindly donated 17 tonnes of clay to mix with a local aggregate, to create 300mm thick solid walls, fair faced internally.
